ORLANDO, FL (FOX19) - Seventh-ranked Cincinnati overcame some early adversity in a 36-33 win over Central Florida on Saturday night.

Trailing 14-3 after the first quarter, Desmond Ridder caught fire and helped the Bearcats outscore the Golden Knights 33-19 the rest of the game. UC was on the doorstep to score another touchdown in the final seconds, but opted to run out the clock instead.

Ridder completed 21 of his 32 passes for 338 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for 57 yards and two scores.

Gerrid Doaks rushed for 97 yards. Josh Whyle had five catches for 81 yards and one touchdown.

UCF came into the game as the number one team in the country in total offense with 619 yards per game. The Bearcats’ defense held them to 359 total yards.

UC (8-0) travels to face Temple next Saturday. The first College Football Playoff poll will be revealed on Tuesday night.
