CINCINNATI (FOX19) - Four families were displaced after a major water main break on Riverside Drive Saturday, police said.
The break happened between 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday on a 60-inch water transmission line, according to Greater Cincinnati Water Works superintendent Jason Fleming.
Police say a vehicle was pulled from the water. No one was believed to be inside at the time.
Fleming says they are working to pump water out of the street and assess any damage to other utilities.
“Most of the damage is to the roadway, which is pretty extensive as well as to one possibly two cars that were damaged from water,” said Fleming.
The Red Cross and Duke Energy had officials at the scene.
Officials do not know the extent of the damage at this time.
The 2400 block of Riverside Drive is shut down on both ends, police said.
It is unclear how long the street will be shut down, and the cause of the break is still unknown.
