CINCINNATI (FOX19) - Kentucky used three interceptions and a powerful running game to beat NC State 23-21 in the Gator Bowl, finishing their third consecutive season with a bowl win.
Asim Rose and Chris Rodriguez combined for 29 carries, 236 yards rushing, and two touchdowns as UK out-gained the Wolfpack by more than 230 yards on the ground.
Rodriguez scored the game’s biggest touchdown when he ran 26 yards for his second score with 2:55 left in the game to give the Wildcats a 23-14 lead.
UK finished the season with a 5-6 record, but with consecutive bowl wins in the Gator Bowl, Belk Bowl, and Citrus Bowl, Kentucky finished with three consecutive season-ending bowl wins for the first time since the late 2000s.
