Gov. Beshear reports 2,860 additional COVID cases, 25 new deaths Sunday

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WAVE) - On Sunday, Kentucky governor Andy Beshear provided an update on newly reported COVID-19 cases within the commonwealth.

In an update provided through social media, Beshear confirmed an additional 2,860 cases of COVID-19 in Kentucky Sunday. An additional 25 deaths due to the virus were also confirmed in Sunday’s update.

Total number of deaths in Kentucky due to COVID-19 is now 2,723.

The state’s positivity rate on a seven-day rolling average is now at 11.1 percent.

Other information provided Sunday includes:

  • Patients currently hospitalized - 1,677
  • Patients currently within the ICU - 421
  • Patients currently on a ventilator - 196
