NORWOOD, Ohio (FOX19) - A teenage girl was hospitalized Monday evening after authorities say she was injured in a Norwood hit-skip crash.
Norwood police say the 15-year-old girl was admitted into the ICU with a serious head injury.
The crash took place sometime around 5 p.m. at the intersection of Montgomery Road and Norwood Avenue.
The teen was in a crosswalk and had the right of way when she was hit. The vehicle that hit her did not stop.
“We believe a black sedan, possibly a KIA, was involved,” NPD Sgt. Kimberly Brucker said.
Brucker hopes the driver of the sedan comes forward and turns themselves in.
“We understand that you might be scared,” she said. “You might have warrants or something similar, but please stop.”
Brucker also asks other people who get into these types of crashes not to drive away.
“We want you to stop, please stop at these accidents,” she said. “Let someone know that they care about these kids, these people who are being hit on these roads.”
Norwood police are also seeking information in a hit-skip crash at Madison Road and Edwards Avenue Dec. 4 involving a gold Chevy Cavalier.
If you have any information on either crash, you’re urged to contact the Norwood Police Department at (513) 458-4520.
