CINCINNATI (FOX19) - All three governors in the Tri-State have ordered American and state flags to be lowered in honor of two fallen United States Capitol police officers.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, and Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb announced flags should be flown at half-staff until sunset on Jan. 13.

The governors said the lowering of the flags is to honor Capitol Police Officers Brian Sicknick and Howard Liebengood, and law enforcement across the country.

Sicknick died the day after being attacked during Wednesday’s protests at the Capitol. The Associated Press says it is unclear if Liebengood’s death is connected to the Jan. 6 events at the Capitol.
