Record Snowfall, Now Overnight Freeze Warnings

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - The low temperature Monday was 32° and the high temperature was 45° as reported through 9 pm. As far as snow fall is concerned:

  1. Tuesday 0.4″ of snow fell at CVG breaking the daily record of a Trace set in 2003.
  2. Today 2.3″ of snow fell at CVG breaking the daily record of 1.5″ set in 1901.
  3. Today is also the latest date in spring that 2″ or more of snow fell. The old latest date was April 18, 1953 when 3.3″ fell.

In Madisonville I measured 3″ but some had melted before I measured. Delhi received 3″ and in Loveland 3.5″ was measured. The official storm total was 2.7″. In the FOX19 NOW viewing area the greatest measured total was 4.5″ in Wilmington followed closely by Maustown in Butler Co. with 4″.

Showers and some light snow will diminish and end overnight and tomorrow will clear a bit and stay cool during afternoon, but milder than Wednesday.

The entire FOX19 NOW viewing area is under a FREEZE WARNING for Thursday morning with many areas likely to see low temperatures in the upper 20s.

After a cold start Friday, a warming trend then takes us back to spring gradually through the weekend.
