24-year-old victim shot, killed at Western Hills Walmart
CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Cincinnati police identified the victim who was killed in a shooting at a Western Hills Walmart on Saturday.
Officers say they responded to the Walmart Supercenter in the 2300 block of Ferguson Road around 3:30 p.m. and found Jamontea Brown, 24, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Brown died at the scene, officers said.
Witnesses say that two men were in an argument in front of the Home and Living entrance which led to the fatal shooting.
“Well, I was inside shopping. I was actually near the gift wrap when I heard a bang,” shopper Colin Black said. “Then I heard a blood-curdling scream by a woman she was crying very loudly. I haven’t heard anything like that ever.”
Walmart was open for about nine hours prior to the incident.
Westwood Community Action President Rodney Christian says that these senseless murders have to stop.
“When is enough, enough? When is everybody going to get inboard and start making changes for this senseless stuff like this,” Christian said. “These shooters, these fools have no conscience right now; they’re feeling really confident. People coming in and out this Walmart and they had no conscious at all to hold up.”
The Cincinnati Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting.
Police do not have a suspect at this time.
Anyone with information is asked to call the homicide unit at 513-352-3542.
