Nearly 20K runners, walkers participate in Heart Mini-Marathon
CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Nearly 20,000 runners and walkers participated virtually and in-person in the city’s largest fundraiser Sunday, raising about $3 million to benefit the American Heart Association.
According to officials with The Heart Mini-Marathon and Walk, the marathon helps fight against heart disease and stroke.
It is presented by Kroger Health, Mercy Health, and Cincinnati Bell.
The event was divided into five different races:
- Medpace 15K Heart Mini & St. Elizabeth Heart 1/2
- UC Health 1K Steps for Stroke
- Ohio National Financial Services 5K Heart Race
- 2K Kid’s Race
- Mercy Health 5K Heart Walk
Runners and walkers met at the corner of 5th & Lawrence streets.
It started with the Medpace 15K Heart Mini & St. Elizabeth Heart 1/2 and ended with the Mercy Health 5K Heart Walk.
