OXFORD, Ohio (WXIX) - The City of Oxford Division of Police is searching for a missing autistic man.

Police say 26-year-old Nathaniel Coffin was last seen Tuesday in Oxford wearing sweatpants, a black zip-up fleece jacket, moccasins, and may be wearing welding-type goggles.

Officers say that he may have a duffle bag with clothes but does not have a phone, identification, or cash with him.

“He likes to be near water. So, perhaps, rivers and creeks… places like that would be where he might be. He just likes to be out in nature, likes to be in the woods. He actually collects sticks so that might be a location where people who are hiking or taking walks might keep a lookout,” Lt. Lara Fening with Oxford police said.

Police also say that Coffin may not be in Oxford but somewhere else in the county.

Officers add that Coffin avoids talking to people.

Those who have seen him should call local police.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Oxford Police Department at 513-523-4321.
