CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A second person has died following a multi-vehicle crash Feb. 26 on I-75 north, the Hamilton County Coroner confirmed.

Charlie Harris, 71, died from his injuries Sunday at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Cincinnati police say a 42-year-old man was driving a pickup truck outside the marked lanes on I-75 when he struck the rear of a car that was stopped on the right shoulder.

Harris was a passenger in the front seat of the car and a 7-year-old boy was in the back seat.

Police say the car was then pushed into George Jordan, 62, who was on foot, and a stopped van.

The truck also hit another car as well, a news release from Cincinnati Police says.

Jordan was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 7-year-old was taken to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.

The driver of the pickup was not hurt.

Police say excessive speed and impairment are being investigated as contributing factors in the crash.
