CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A man was arrested Thursday for the November murder of a 31-year-old man in Over-the-Rhine.

Devon Courtney, 23, is accused of fatally shooting Mikale Booker, of Mason, in Cable House Lofts on Nov. 21, 2023, according to Cincinnati Police Public Information Officer McKenna Adams.

Courtney was arrested in Northern Kentucky by the US Marshals Office and Cincinnati Police Homicide Unit officers and is in custody at the Kenton County Jail.

In the Fall of 2023, Cincinnati police were dispatched to an Elm Street apartment for a report of shooting that took place inside a home.

According to detectives at the scene, the suspect, now known as Courtney, broke into the building through the side door, went up the stairwell and entered Unit 3F. He then allegedly shot and killed Booker.

While it is currently unknown if Courtney and the victim knew each other, Cincinnati Police Lt. Andrew Heyob told reporters in November that this wasn’t a random shooting.

A list of Courtney’s charges have not been announced.
