CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Two men were shot near the University of Cincinnati Thursday morning, Cincinnati police confirm.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 2800 block of Short Vine Street shortly after 8:30 a.m., according to Lt. Jonathan Cunningham, police spokesman.

One of the victims was found at the scene with non-life-threatening injuries and transported in an ambulance to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, he said.

The second shooting victim self-transported to the hospital. His injuries also are considered non-life threatening.

UC police warned students and staff about the shooting in two social media updates. They initially advised them to stay put if they were safe.

About a half hour later, UC issued the “all clear.”

The incident remains under investigation.
