CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Grounds may still be wet for the Easter egg hunts, but fortunately the day will be dry! Easter Sunday will be mostly cloudy and warm with highs in the 70s.

We can’t rule out an evening chance of showers Sunday, but better opportunities of rain will arrive after midnight ahead of a cold front that will slide through Monday morning.

Improving weather conditions will be expected for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday next week with temperatures above normal. For Wednesday and Thursday, we’ll be flirting with or exceeding 80°!

Clouds will build into the region on Thursday ahead of more unsettled weather conditions for Thursday night, Friday and into the weekend as scattered showers and thunderstorms. By the weekend, temperatures will be closer to normal with highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s.

Be careful! Do not let a few warm days sucker you into planting tender plants before Mother’s Day. Models that go beyond two weeks are hinting at cooler weather for the first week to 10 days of May and that could mean some potential for frost.
