CINCINNATI (WXIX) -A man died early Saturday after being shot by law enforcement officers who responded to a 911 call about an armed subject at a mobile home park in Pierce Township, according to Clermont County Sheriff Christopher E. Stratton.

Sheriff Stratton says the county’s communication center received a 911 call at 12:10 a.m. Saturday, from a male caller who said, “There is a man with a gun.”

A female could be heard in the background stating that the man was intoxicated, according to the sheriff. The caller said, “You better send them now,” and provided an address at Eastgate Mobile Home Park, on State Route 125 in Pierce Township, deputies said.

Pierce Township Police and deputies from the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office were called to that area at 12:11 a.m. and arrived at the scene minutes later.

The suspect refused multiple orders to drop the firearm, prompting a deputy and a Pierce Township officer to discharge their weapons, hitting the subject, Sheriff Stratton said.

Pierce Township EMS arrived at 12:22 a.m., rendered medical attention to the suspect, and requested AirCare.

AirCare landed minutes later and pronounced the man dead, Sheriff Stratton said.

No law enforcement personnel were injured during the incident.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation was requested to respond to the investigation.
