Steven Hernandez is a bilingual multimedia journalist who joined 19 News in July of 2019.
Steven was born in Teaneck, New Jersey but spent most of his childhood in the Dominican Republic. He moved back to New Jersey when he was 12, where he first discovered his passion for journalism after visiting the CBS News headquarters in New York City.
In college, Steven worked as a reporter for WOUB-TV while studying at Ohio University. He also published a story on little league baseball players in Argentina, “The Silver Diamond,” after visiting the city of Buenos Aires. He graduated from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University in 2019.
Now, Steven is a English and Spanish-language reporter for 19 News, as well as the Friday anchor for our digital, Spanish-language broadcast, “Cleveland Al Día.
Steven enjoys watching all sports, from American football to “fútbol,” building computers and playing his guitar.
A few weeks ago, the church began a partnership with the Metanoia Project, a local nonprofit that aims to shelter the homeless in Cleveland. However, the city’s Public Safety Department sent the church a cease use notice.
