CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A local senator has his walking shoes on.

Sen. Eric Kearney (D - Cincinnati) is taking part in a four-day, 102 mile walk from Cincinnati to Columbus to bring attention to children's health issues.

The themes for this year's walk are childhood obesity, children's hunger and infant mortality. He is highlighting Senate Bill 24/House Bill 60, which he introduced with Rep. Connie Pillich to ban junk food from vending machines in Ohio schools.

Kearney held a kick-off Friday morning at Fountain Square. He will complete the walk on April 20 on the steps of the Senate Building in Columbus.
