No new name for Cincinnati riverfront project

CINCINNATI (AP) - An online survey has found that "The Banks" is just fine as the name for a nearly $1 billion riverfront project in downtown Cincinnati.

The massive residential and retail development now under construction has been called The Banks all through the planning stages.

The developers asked whether it ought to have a different name and offered three other choices. But The Banks is the winner with 47 percent of the vote in a Web poll conducted from April 14 to Monday night. Nearly 4,000 votes were cast.

Ground was broken earlier this year for the project, which won't be finished for an estimated 10 years. A first phase could be done by the summer of 2010.
