A teenage girl is dead after a crash on Interstate 275 in Colerain Township.
Police say Jessica Phillips, 17, was traveling eastbound on I-275 around 3:15 p.m. Monday when she lost control of her car and traveled to the center median. The vehicle went airborne, then flipped several times before stopping in the westbound lanes.
Phillips and her passenger, Alex Gaither, 17, were both ejected from the vehicle. Both were taken to University Hospital, where Philips was pronounced dead. Gaither is listed in stable condition.
Police say drugs and/or alcohol are not factors in the crash, and that neither teen was wearing a seat belt.
Phillips was a student at Colerain High School. Police say she played select soccer with Miranda Phelps and Lauren Dietz, who were killed in a car crash two years ago.
The crash remains under investigation.
