CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) – Komen Greater Cincinnati is a finalist in a national contest sponsored by JP Morgan Chase and could win $1,000,000 to fight breast cancer right here in Greater Cincinnati, and needs your help.

The local chapter has already won a $25,000 grant for being voted one of the top 100 charities (out of 500,000) in round one.  Voting on Facebook for the $1,000,000 prize lasts through Jan. 22.

"We need community support to help us win!" said Amy Ritzie of Komen Greater Cincinnati.

Komen Greater Cincinnati submitted a million dollar grant proposal to Chase, detailing the difference it would make in the local community with the significant extra resources. The plan included funding more life-saving screening programs, high-priority research and the creation of a financial assistance program for breast cancer survivors in the community.

The $1,000,000 winner will be announced on February 1.
