CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - They may lead their division, but the Cincinnati Reds rank towards the bottom of baseball teams nation wide in home game attendance.
The Cincinnati Reds are ranked 23 out of 30 in attendance. The only other team in their division that ranks lower is the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Fan interest is definitely up, thanks to the team's winning record and Internet events like the Vote Votto campaign, but that hasn't translated to higher game attendance.
The team is hoping to bring more people in with more events after the All Star Break, and is hoping that a continued winning record will maintain fan interest. Reds Hall of Fame Director Rick Walls tells FOX19, "we've got the personalities on the team, we've got the great players and performing well now is the chance for the fans to come out and take us the rest of the season and end on a very high note."
Joey Votto, Arthur Rhodes, Brandon Phillips and Scott Rolen play in Tuesday night's All Star Game on FOX19.
