Three injured after Hamilton apartment fire

HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) - Three people were transported to the hospital after an early morning apartment fire in the city of Hamilton Sunday morning.

The Hamilton Fire Department was called to the 300 block of Main St. in Hamilton at about 3:15 am Sunday. When they arrived at the fire, flames were showing at the rear of the building. Five engine companies, one tower company, one medic unit, and a command unit responded to the scene.

All occupants of the apartment had been evacuated before the fire department arrived.

Fire companies were on the scene for about three hours. There were two civilian injuries and one firefighter injury, all minor. All three were taken to Fort Hamilton Hospital.

Five occupants were displaced by the fire and are now being helped by the Red Cross.
