FAIRFIELD, OH (FOX19) - Katelyn Markham's friends and family are trying to figure out why flyers of the missing 22-year old are disappearing.

"Some places in Fairfield, they're being ripped down, I'm not sure which places exactly, and some in Hamilton around the courthouse," said Krista Snyder, friend of Katelyn's.

Officials with the City of Fairfield say city workers are not responsible for taking down the fliers and it's unclear who is responsible. Snyder says fliers started disappearing two weeks ago and it's hurting the efforts to bring Katelyn home.

"They're hurting her face being shown," said Snyder. "We want her out there as much as possible. We just want to bring her home safe.

Snyder is doing what she can to keep hope alive and find Markham. Snyder started the "Bring Katelyn Markham home" Facebook page.

"We decided to search the Facebook page just to get her out there, it went really fast and reached farther than just the Cincinnati area," said Snyder.

The page now has nearly 4,000 fans, from more than a dozen countries.

Snyder says keeping Katelyn's face visible locally is most important that means the fliers need to stay up.

"I'm just hoping for her to come home safe, that is all I hope," said Snyder.

Markham was reported missing on Aug. 14. She is 5'3" and 130 pounds with green eyes and brown hair with blonde highlights.
