QUEENSGATE, OH (FOX19) - A man was taken to the hospital after a minivan crashed into a semi-tractor trailer in Queensgate Thursday afternoon.
At around 2:15 pm, police say the driver of a 2001 Honda Odyssey lost control of the vehicle and drove left of center. He then hit a GMC semi-tractor trailer traveling the opposite way on Dalton Ave.
Police responded to the 600 block of Dalton Ave. and transported the driver of the minivan, Brent Springer, 33, to University Hospital with serious injuries. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
Springer had two children in the vehicle who were both taken to Childrens Hospital. Both children have been treated and released. Neither of them were wearing seatbelts.
The driver of the semi, Jeffery Lee, 50, was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. He was not injured.
Police are still investigating the incident, but believe drugs were a factor.
