Police: 68-year-old knife wielding, bookstore robber arrested at casino

LAWRENCEBURG, IN (FOX19) - Police have arrested a 68-year-old man after being accused of robbing the Gateway College bookstore in Florence on Thursday.

Police say James Summers Jr., 68, of Fort Thomas, Kentucky, went into the bookstore just before 10 a.m. and inquired about a printer cartridge. When the bookstore manager told him they didn't have it, Summers pulled a large knife and demanded cash. Summers then left the scene in a greenish-brown Ford Taurus.

Police were able to positively identify Summers after reviewing surveillance video. Summers is a student at Gateway College.

Sheriff's investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Summers for Robbery 1st degree with a $50,000 bond attached.

Summers was arrested early Friday morning at the Hollywood Casino in Lawrenceburg, IN.
