Title insurance agent sentenced in over $350,000 theft

SPRINGBORO, OH (FOX19) - A former Springboro title insurance agent accused of stealing over $350,000 will spend the next two years behind bars.

Pamela Sue Moore was convicted of theft in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court for mishandling $360,000 in escrow funds intended for closing real estate transactions.

An investigation found Moore illegally closed on the purchase of her own home with her Dedicated Land Title agency providing the settlement services. As part of the closing, Moore, paid about $144,000 to the seller's mortgage company and about $39,000 in proceeds to the seller. Moore did not get financing for the purchase, instead she used money place in escrow by other clients.

Moore also paid $17,000 for office computer products and supplies for her company with escrow accounts. The insurance company Moore was appointed to covered the losses to Moore's clients.
