Twenty three seventh and eighth grade students met Saturday to participate in their first day of Children in Trauma Intervention (CITI) boot camp.
The Police Department and Rothenberg School teamed up to offer the boot camp in which the students were selected to attend by school administrators. CITI is intended to assist the children through mentoring, discipline and unity.
The 23 kids will meet three times per week participating in physical fitness activities and communicating on topics such as drug prevention, problem-solving skills and self-esteem.
The boot camp will last three weeks.
