Monroe Local School District meets to discuss financial crisis

MONROE, OH (FOX19) - The Monroe Local School District met Monday night to discuss the system's financial crisis.

Board members were expected to vote on being placed in fiscal emergency, as the district has been in State Fiscal Watch since Feb. 2. The district has already cut $2.2 million from its 2013 budget, but it's not enough.

The Board of Education wants to reduce costs in order to meet its financial obligation for 2012 while maintaining the highest possible education standards.
