FLORENCE, KY (FOX19) - The Church of Scientology Greater Cincinnati opened its new location over the weekend. The church is at the intersection of Dixie Highway and Main Street in Florence.

The new facility will not only provide Scientology services to parishioners, but will extend the Church's humanitarian program throughout the Tri-state. The new Ideal Church of Scientology of Greater Cincinnati is 50,000 square feet and stands on three-acre campus.

"Scientology is basically the study of knowledge. Its the study of truth," said church spokeswoman, Erin Banks. "It comes from 50,000 years of wisdom, knowledge, and from mathematics, nuclear physics and that whole study."

Neighbors held different opinions of the new church.

"The don't really believe in God. Its their own beliefs," said Florence resident Beth Holt.

"Everybody's got the right to practice, I mean, this is America, right?" asked Florence resident, David Brock. "We can practice our own beliefs and if that's what they choose to do, and its not affecting me or the community, it's alright."

The Church welcomes all visitors and anyone would like more information on Scientology in their Public Information Center.

Scientology was founded in the 1950's by L. Ron Hubbard.
