Milford High School freshman Eben Christian Franckewitz is prepping for the biggest week of his life as an American Idol contestant.
The 15-year-old advanced to the Top 24 last week on season 11 of the hit FOX reality show.
The city of Milford is throwing its support behind the teenage star in an attempt to get out the vote and put Eben in the Top 12.
Local businesses are turning their marquees into campaign signs for Eben.
Jean Ackermann owns Lehr's Market on Route 28 in Milford. She says Eben's success is something to be proud of.
"It's just something that everybody can connect to and it's just something that we really really should support," says Ackermann. "I think he goes all the way, I hope. Course we don't know that but if we all get behind him we can sure push that."
Skyline Chili on Lila Avenue changed its marquee Sunday after some of Eben's friends swung by asking for help.
"It was three of them and they had the shirts. They were all pumped up and excited," says server Samantha Ross.
"We know each other, we support each other. We're just small town people and if that small town mentality went to some place like LA, I think it would be nice," says Ross.
And for Ackermann it doesn't matter where you are from, she wants everyone to vote for Eben.
"I don't care where you live, vote for him, he's from Ohio, vote for him," says Ackermann.
Eben sings on American Idol Tuesday night on FOX19 at 8 p.m. Milford High School is holding a viewing party for him.
