Firefighters stop spread of flames in Madisonville home

MADISONVILLE, OH (FOX19) - A one-alarm fire broke out in a vacant building in Madisonville early Sunday morning. Firefighters responded to heavy flames at the rear of a building in the 5300 block of Ravenna Street. Crews began an aggressive attack on the flames, and brought it under control in about 20 minutes.

Resident's of an adjacent home had already evacuated when flames spread to the outside of the building. Fire crews were able to extinguish those flames in approximately 5 minutes.

Damage is estimated at total of $25,000 to both buildings. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
