Cheers to the long weekend!

Good morning and HAPPY FRIDAY! Give yourself a pat on the back for making it through yet another work week!

The good news is that we've got a long holiday weekend ahead of us, the bad news is that the weather isn't looking too promising. Meteorologist Katy Morgan is saying that today will be our last chance to enjoy the sunshine because this weekend is calling for rain, rain and more rain. Your highs today will be hitting the low 90s.

While we're not thrilled about the weekend forecast, at least Hurricane Isaac has now downgraded to a tropical depression! Katy will have a better look at the storm's current status starting at 4 a.m. on the FOX19 Morning News.

An autopsy is scheduled today for 19-year-old Joseph William Oakley who was found yesterday morning in a Fairfield creek. The creek where Oakley was found is also where Chelsea Johnson, 15, was found stabbed to death in April. Rob Williams and Sheila Gray will keep you updated on this story throughout our morning newscast.

OHIO DRIVERS: if you haven't already done so, today is the day that you need to put and end to texting while driving! The statewide texting ban goes into effect today, but law enforcement seems to be easing their way into dishing out the fines. FOX19's Jessica Brown will be live with more on this story at 5 a.m.

A private service will be held in Cincinnati today for the first man to set foot on the moon. Brad Underwood will be live in Indian Hill this morning with more on the legacy of Neil Armstrong. If you wish to make a memorial in Armstrong's honor, here is the list of the suggested organizations that you can send them to. His family is also asking that you check out tonight's blue moon and give the astronaut a little wink. ;)

How far would you go to help your spouse land a job? A man in Toledo went as far as creating a billboard that is built like a resume to give his wife a little career boost! Check it out!

This Sunday marks the 18th annual Rubber Duck Regatta on the Ohio River! The event is set to take place right before the Cincinnati Bell/WEBN fireworks show at the P&G Riverfest and Bob Edwards, founder and chair of RDR, will be here at 8:15 with information on how you can become involved in benefiting The Freestore Foodbank!

In regards to Sunday's show, the question on everyone's mind is "what will the soundtrack be?" Although we can't fully disclose that information, Joel Moss from WEBN will be here during the 9 a.m. Morning Xtra with the method behind the madness when it comes to picking out the music!

Now that you're in the know on what's happening here in the newsroom, I hope that you have a SAFE and FUN holiday weekend!
