MADEIRA, OH (FOX19) - A man has been indicted for nine offenses in connection with several aggravated robberies in Cincinnati.
William Hart allegedly shot Roop Gupta on Sept. 5 while robbing the Madeira Beverage. Silverton Police have also identified Hart as a suspect in the robbery of the Marathon Gas Station on Stewart Road on Aug. 8.
Silverton Police issued a warrant for Hart and on Sept. 15, he was arrested during a traffic stop. Madeira Police were then able to file a search warrant for Hart's rented room at the Gateway Lodge Motel. Authorities recovered multiple items including a weapon believed to be the one used in the robberies and the shooting of Gupta.
Hart was indicted on aggravated robbery of the Marathon, having weapons under disability, aggravated robbery of Madeira Beverage, aggravated robbery of Madeira Beverage and causing harm to Gupta, felonious assault for the shooting of Gupta, felonious assault for the firing of the firearm towards Rehka Gupta, having weapons under disability, aggravated robbery of the Dollar General in Madison Place and having weapons under disability.
The Dollar General robbery occurred on Sept. 11 and the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department is investigating.
