CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The Cincinnati Park Board, in partnership with Duke Energy Ohio, has unveiled four new electric and plug-in hybrid car charging stations located in the Sawyer Point parking lot.

The 4 charging stations will be available on a first-come, first-served basis to drivers of plug-in vehicles, 7 days a week from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The daily parking rate is $4 but varies depending on events and game days. Charging your electric vehicle is free with regular paid parking. Free daily parking passes are being offered to the first four electric vehicle owners that sign up.

While home charging is predicted to be the predominant charging location for plug-in electric vehicles, public-access charging stations are being installed across the country. The public charging stations located at Sawyer Point are the first publicly-owned free charging stations in Cincinnati.

The Level 2 PEP dual charging stations work with both all-electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles. A touch screen monitor guides users through the process.
