WARREN COUNTY, OH (FOX19) - Atrium Medical Center's Warren County Safe Communities Coalition wants to remind everyone to be aware of the dangers of drunk driving this Halloween.
"The scariest part of Halloween is not the spooky costumes or scary pranks," says Joey Brumfield, WCSCC Coordinator and Trauma Outreach Coordinator at Atrium, "it's the thought of impaired drivers and the dangers which they pose to trick-or-treaters, other pedestrians and other vehicles on the roadways!"
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), from 2007-2011, 52 percent of all national fatalities occurring on Halloween night involved a drunk driver.
"A sober and safe ride after the party is the best treat you can give yourself and everyone else on the roadways this Halloween season," Brumfield said.
Warren County Law Enforcement will be targeting impaired driving this Halloween and they encourage everyone to be safe on the road.
