CPD make arrest in Northside barber shop shooting

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Police have arrested a suspect in a broad daylight barber shop shooting that happened earlier this month.

On October 11, the victim, Phillip Smith, was inside Hair Options barber shop on Hamilton Avenue when the gunman walked in and started shooting just after 12 p.m.

According to police at the scene, Smith was shot at least three times to the upper body.

After the shooting, Smith was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. He is still recovering.

On October 30, 2013, District Five detectives, along with the Safe Streets Unit, arrested Tracy Washington, 23, in Avondale.

Washington has been charged with felonious assault, carrying a concealed weapon and possessing a weapon while under disability due to a prior felony conviction.
