Remembering Rodney Dangerfield

Flowers have been placed on Rodney Dangerfield's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame as reaction pours in to the comedian's death.

The comedy legend known for his lament, "I don't get no respect," slipped into a coma after heart surgery in August, emerging only a week ago. He died Tuesday afternoon at the age of 82.

Comedian Adam Sandler starred with Dangerfield in the 2000 film "Little Nicky." He says the affection felt for Dangerfield "when you saw him on TV or in the movies was doubled when you had the pleasure to meet him." Sandler says Dangerfield was "a hero who lived up to the hype."

The marquee of The Improv, a comedy club where Dangerfield often performed, read "Rest In Peace Rodney."
