CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Rumpke has been providing the Tri-State with waste disposal and recycling options since 1932, and this month, they opened a new $32 million recycling facility.
The previous recycling facility in St. Bernard caught fire in April 2012. The result was a 100,000-square-foot facility with the capability to sort 55 tons of recyclables every hour.
The center, which is one of the largest of its kind in North America, collects recyclable materials and resends them to manufacturers that will use it to make new products.
According to Rumpke officials, it has the potential to process one million pounds of material daily and will serve more than 4.5 million residents in the Greater Cincinnati area.
