(FOX19) - A Metro bus caught fire on eastbound I-275 Friday afternoon.

The bus caught fire just after 5:30 p.m. Friday evening near Kellogg Avenue. No injuries were reported.

Police say that the driver of the bus was alerted of smoke in the rear of the bus by passengers. The bus pulled over and everyone was evacuated.

"We are so grateful to the 2-and-a-half year bus driver who got everybody off safely," representatives from Metro tell FOX19.

Metro says that the bus was an express to Anderson Park and Ride from downtown, Cincinnati.

Two additional busses were called to assist the stranded passengers. The bus is reportedly heavily damaged.

FOX19 will update the story as details become available.
