BOONE COUNTY, KY (FOX19) - An off-duty Boone County sheriff's deputy is suspended without pay after he was arrested on a domestic violence charge.
According to the sheriff's office, Scotty Hill, 41, was arrested Tuesday night after he was involved in a domestic situation with his wife.
Hill, who is an 11-year veteran with the agency, is charged with assault in the fourth degree (domestic violence) and alcohol intoxication.
He was taken to the Boone County Detention Center but was released early Wednesday morning. Officials say he has been suspended without pay.
Hill was also suspended in 2008 after he was involved in a fatal shooting incident while he was off duty. In that incident, Kentucky State Police said Hill fatally shot 55-year-old Brenda Pollitt after she pointed a gun at him and threatened to shoot.
According to police, the shooting happened when Hill went to Pollitt's property to pick up a horse.
He was placed on paid administrative leave during that investigation.
In 2009, a grand jury decided there was not enough evidence to convict him for the deadly shooting.
