(FOX19) - July is National Ice Cream Month and FOX19 hosted Amy Sandmann and Lisa Thatcher of Aglamesis Brothers Ice Cream and Candy to teach us how to make a "French Quarter Petite."
What you need for the dish:
- 8 oz Marshmallow Sauce
- 8 oz Bittersweet Sauce
- 8 oz Caramel sauce
- 1 pint of Freshly Whipped Cream
- 8 oz cup of Crushed Walnuts
- 8 oz cup of Chopped Pecans
- 1 pint of Chocolate Ice Cream
- 1 pint of Chocolate Chip Ice Cream
- 1 pint of Strawberry Ice Cream
- 1 pint of French Vanilla Ice Cream
- 1 bunch of Bananas
Recipe:
- In a medium-size serving bowl, slice a peeled banana to cover the bottom.
- Dip 4 large scoops of French Vanilla, Chocolate, Fresh Strawberry and Chocolate Chip (or your favorite 4 flavors) in a pyramid shape on top of the banana slices.
- Slice a peeled banana lengthwise and then cut it in half to quarter it. Place the 4 banana spears vertically around the sides between the ice cream and the bowl.
- Drizzle 2 oz of Marshmallow Sauce, followed by 2 oz of Bittersweet Sauce, and 2 oz of Caramel Sauce across the entire sundae.
- Top with 5 oz of freshly whipped cream.
- Garnish with 2 teaspoonfuls each of chopped pecans followed by crushed walnuts.
For a lighter version, use Italian Ices (aka Sorbets) which are dairy-free instead of ice cream and substitute fresh berries for the sauces.
