Comcast customer service call goes viral

Comcast has issued an apology and says its "very embarrassed" after a maddening customer service call went viral.

All tech journalist Ryan Block wanted to do was cancel his Comcast subscription over the phone. Instead of a quick hello, thank you and goodbye -- the conversation turned into possibly the worst customer service call of all time.

In the recording posted to SoundCloud, the rep refuses again and again to disconnect his service without an explanation.

RYAN: "Okay, we'd like to disconnect. We'd like to disconnect please."

CUSTOMER SERVICE REP: "Okay so why is it that you don't want the faster speed? Help me understand why you don't want faster Internet."

RYAN: "Help me understand why you can't just disconnect us."

CUSTOMER SERVICE REP: "Because my job is to have a conversation with you about having, just, I mean, keeping your service.. about finding out why it is that you're looking to cancel the service."

Just listening to the 1:00 minute mark is enough to get your blood boiling. The conversation continues...

RYAN: "I'm declining to state why we are leaving Comcast because I don't owe you an explanation, so if you can please just cancel.. proceed to the next question. If you have to fill out your form, that's fine.

CUSTOMER SERVICE REP: "Being that we are the number one provider of Internet and TV service in the entire country, why is it that you're not wanting to have the number one rated Internet service? Number one rated TV service available?

Ohio father's Photoshop request gets huge response

A grieving father's request on the popular site Reddit made the Internet a place to heal as he remembers his infant daughter.

On June 13, Nathen Steffel posted an image of his daughter, Sophia, on Reddit and asked for a request to Photoshop the image.

"My daughter recently passed away after a long battle in the children's hospital," Steffel wrote. "Since she was in the hospital her whole life, we never were able to get a photo without all her tubes. Can someone remove the tubes from this photo?"

Steffel, from Ohio, wrote that Sophia was born on May 30, and was born with hepatic hemangioma, a liver tumor. Sophia died just six weeks later, on July 10, at Cincinnati Children's Hospital.

Todd Frazier and Derek Jeter meet again!

Cincinnati Reds third basemen Todd Frazier participated for the first time in the All-Star Game this year, and it was Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter's 14th and final time.

They also recalled a previous meeting back in 1998.

Frazier's Toms River N.J. Little League World Series championship team was honored at Yankee Stadium. A 12-year-old Frazier, who was then playing shortstop, got to stand next to Jeter on the first during the National Anthem.

"I'm just looking around like a kid in a candy store," Frazier said to MLB.com. "I talked to him three years ago. We worked out together in Florida for a little bit. I said, 'Do you remember that?' He started laughing. He said, 'Holy cow, don't tell anybody.' That's just the way he is. He's a happy-go-lucky guy and I can't wait to see his final All-Star Game playing against him."

"It means I've been doing it for a long time -- a very long time," Jeter said in response to the '98 meeting. "It's great to see guys that you run into when they're young. There's been plenty of players I've played against that have said I had an opportunity to met them earlier in my career. I enjoy those stories."

The American League won Tuesday night's game in Minnesota, 5-3.
