(FOX19) - Allegiant Air, known for their lower-cost fairs, is expanding service out of the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport to offer non-stop flights to Las Vegas.
The company made the announcement Tuesday, saying flights to Vegas' McCarran International Airport will be priced as low as $81 for a one-way ticket. Allegiant will fly out of CVG twice-weekly beginning December 18, 2014.
CVG was recently named the most expensive airport in the country, with average fares costing $514.
How the prices compare:
For flights leaving Sunday, Jan. 4 and returning one week later, Allegiant flyers using a credit card would pay significantly less than Delta flyers, according to posted fares on Tuesday morning.
Jan. 4 round-trip flights with Delta are quoted at $479.20.
Jan. 4 flights with Allegiant are quoted at $197 with returning flights at $81. Add on extra fees for seats ($19.98) and for a carry-on bag ($30) and the total is $335.98. (Including taxes, carrier charges and government fees plus an $8 fee for using a credit card.)
That is $143.22 less than Delta.
How you can save more:
Allegiant is offering a promotion discount for travel packages to Las Vegas. The company says flyers can get $50 off air and hotels for round trip reservations from CVG to Las Vegas if purchased by Aug. 19 and traveled by Feb. 10, 2015.
Promo code CINCY50 will provide the package discount.
