SOUTH FAIRMONT, OH (FOX19) - The cause of a large fire that ripped through a vacant home is under investigation early Thursday.

No one was inside or hurt when flames broke out in the 2500 block of Hansford Place overnight, Cincinnati fire officials said.

The fire started somewhere in the basement and worked its way up through the interior lining of the house. It spread to the second floor, where flames shot out of the roof.

Fire crews had some issues getting water onto the blaze after a resident who lives on the street drove over a hose.

A damage estimate was not released.
