ALEXANDRIA, KY (FOX19) - Investigative crews are on the scene of what is described as a "residential explosion" in Campbell County.

"A lot of people are concerned about the recent big boom. There was a residential explosion in Alexandria. The cause is currently unknown. Everyone is okay. Please be patient for more information," Campbell County Police Department posted to Facebook around 11:30 p.m.

The incident occurred on Bieting Drive off Grandview Road and several viewers in nearby areas reported feeling the explosion.

Neighbors said they believe the explosion was due to a gas leak. Duke Energy is currently working with local and state fire officials to determine the cause of the explosion.

The house was totaled in the blast and houses near the explosion were also damaged.

"The back window blew out and the whole house shook," said neighbor Eric O' Bryan. "It felt like something you had never heard or felt before in your life."

Officials said two people were taken to St. Elizabeth hospital in Fort Thomas after suffering minor injuries from the blast.

Authorities have not released any additional details about the incident.
