FOX19 NOW had a one-on-one 15-minute interview with Cal Scruby.

Cal Scruby is a Cincinnati kid living his dream. The '08 Kings high school grad went from the Queen City to Columbus for college, where at Ohio State University's library – a music career was born.

Now, the 25-year-old rapper is making music in Los Angeles with artists you might know. Announcing in this FOX19 #TrendingNOW interview, Cal said that he is teaming-up with Chris Brown for a song to hit this summer.

"It's always going to be surreal," Cal said about working in LA with Chris Brown and Usher. "I mean you watch those guys be such professionals and perfections, it's just unreal. I'm still learning from them every time I'm with them."

And what about coming home to Cincinnati?

"It's a homecoming for me, I hope everyone comes out It'll be a great time."

Cal Scruby will be performing a FREE concert at Fountain Square July 11 at 7 p.m. The show is part of Self Diploma's free summer concert series which goes 16-weeks at the Square. In 2014, Self Diploma representatives said Scruby's show attracted more than 2,000 fans. This year expect more as Cal comes back from Hollywood for a Cincinnati homecoming.
