NORTH AVONDALE, OH (FOX19) - Students at North Avondale Montessori Elementary School were evacuated around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday after a suspicious package was found on school property.

Sources tell FOX19 NOW, emergency crews were called to North Avondale Montessori because of a padded envelope sent to a teacher by someone with a history of stalking that teacher.

Charges are expected to be filed soon, according to sources.

The students were safely transported to South Avondale Elementary School as a precaution, according to Cincinnati Public School spokesperson Janet Walsh. The school will reopen on Wednesday.

A Cincinnati Police spokesperson said the package did not contain explosive items.

North Avondale Montessori Elementary School is located on Clinton Springs Avenue and teaches Kindergarten through sixth grade.

The situation remains under investigation by the Cincinnati Police Department.
