HILLSBORO, OH (FOX19) - A contract worker who was injured in a trench collapse Tuesday has died, according to Hillsboro Police Chief Todd Whited.
Marcus Mennett, 26, was trapped under the collapsed trench for 18 minutes. He was working with Stauffer Construction to replace city sewer lines in the 200 block of East Beech Street.
After being rescued, Mennett was transported to Miami Valley Hospital where he died Thursday.
Whited says the Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating and sewer line work has been halted.
