FORT THOMAS, KY (FOX19) - The critically missing Ft. Thomas man has been found dead on the banks of the Ohio River, Ft. Thomas Police confirmed.

Chad Allen Smith was found dead near Paul Brown Stadium, police said. An autopsy will be performed by the Hamilton County Coroner's Office.

Officials say Smith was last seen in the 4800 block of Estes Ave., in Winton Terrace, on Monday at noon, after leaving his Ft. Thomas home at 8 a.m.

Locals set up a search group beginning at 8 a.m. at Music Hall Saturday morning.

He left without his wallet, cell phone or keys, according to Texas Equusearch.

"We had a lady that was over there that found him on the back porch, sitting there, drenched from walking. We don't know if he walked, or was given a ride," Ft. Thomas Police Department Lt. Richard Whitford said. "He had left with no money, no funds, but she found him on the back of her porch. She took him in, helped him get something to eat, warmed him up a little bit and he left."

According to Texas Equusearch's Facebook page, Smith is one of the animators from Lumenocity this year.

Police say Smith had a recent change in mental status and has a potential for being easily agitated.
