AVONDALE, OH (FOX19) - A woman died in an apartment fire early Wednesday, Cincinnati fire officials said.
The victim was found inside a third story apartment in the 3500 block of Washington Avenue when crews responded about 3:10 a.m., fire officials said.
At that point, she was unresponsive and critically hurt, dispatchers said. She was taken by ambulance to University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
All other residents were safely evacuated. Neighbors said the woman who died was in her 30s and was nice to everyone.
A Metro bus was sent to the scene to keep them warm from the morning chill.
Crews continue to investigate the cause of the blaze, which began in the third story apartment near the bed and closet area, dispatchers said.
Damage is set at $10,000.
